New Poll: 75% of Mississippi Voters Support Term Limits on Congress

Jackson, MS – A new poll of registered Mississippi voters conducted by RMG Research on January 2-7, 2025 found an overwhelming 75% favor term limits for Congress.  This reflects sentiments in favor of congressional term limits in other states as well.  The poll showed that 72% of Mississippians would want their state senator and state representative to favor legislation calling for a convention to propose congressional term limits.

The poll also reveals that 69% of voters would be more likely to vote for a candidate who supported congressional term limits.  In recent elections, it has become evident that candidates who do not support term limits have become vulnerable to those candidates who do.

Mississippi State Chair for U.S. Term Limits Ron Eller says, “Now more than ever before, the need for term limits is crystal clear.  Polls show that the one issue Americans are united about regardless of political affiliation is the need for congressional term limits.“

Support for congressional term limits was broad-based among all political affiliations and demographics.

The survey was conducted January 2-7, 2025 by RMG Research, Inc. with a margin of sampling error, +/- 4.3 percentage points.

Executive Summary.
