New Poll: 81% of Delaware Voters Support Term Limits on Congress

Dover, DE — According to a new poll conducted by RMG Research, an overwhelming 81% of the voters approve of an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will place term limits on U.S. Senators and U.S. House Representatives.

The poll, which was conducted statewide from December 5-13, shows:

  • 77% of voters favor having Delaware call for an amendment-proposing convention to enact congressional terms limits.
  • 69% of Delawareans would more likely vote for their senator or state representative who voted to place term limits on Congress.
  • 72% of those surveyed favor voting for a senator or state representative who supports implementing term limits on Congress.

Support for term limits is broad across all political and demographic groups, with 73 percent of Republicans, 86 percent of Democrats and 83 percent of independents agreeing that members of Congress need term limits.

The survey was conducted December 5-13, 2023 by RMG Research, Inc. with a margin of sampling error, +/- 4.7 percentage points.

Executive Summary.
