New IA-01 Poll: An Overwhelming 87% of Likely Primary Voters Support Term Limits on Congress

Washington, DC – According to a new poll conducted by RMG Research, an overwhelming 87% of likely primary voters in Iowa’s 1st congressional district approve of an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will place term limits on U.S. Senators and U.S. House Representatives.

The poll, which was conducted from November 28-December 2, also finds that Miller-Meeks currently leads the field with 38% of the vote. 15% of primary voters indicated they were undecided. However, when voters were asked who they would support if they knew Christina Bohannan backed congressional term limits and Marianette Miller-Meeks did not, Bohannan leaps from 35% to 43% and Meeks drops to 27% since voters are more likely to select the term limits candidate.

When asked how many terms members of the U.S. House should serve, 53% indicate they favor term limits of six years or less.

The survey of 448 registered voters in Iowa’s 1st congressional district was conducted online by RMG Research, Inc. in November 2023 using a representative sample to reflect the district’s population of registered likely primary election voters. It has a margin of error of +/- 4.6 percentage points. RMG Research is owned and operated by Scott Rasmussen.
