Washington, D.C. — U.S. Term Limits (USTL) is proud to announce that Aaron Dukette, former State Director for U.S. Term Limits, has been promoted to the position of Central Regional Director.  As a former educator and state director, Aaron understands the history of Article V and has experience leading individual states pushing for the term limits movement.

Formerly an educator and administrator in the charter school movement, Aaron also taught courses in logic and ethics for Ashford University. He formerly served in various school administration roles while teaching and most recently taught and served as a dean at Thomas MacLaren School in Colorado Springs. Aaron brings the depth of understanding and the experience necessary to recruit grassroots advocates and negotiate with state legislators as he oversees term limits operations in states from Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, Arkansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Illinois.

Asked why he is passionate about the term limits movement, Dukette said, “The mess on Capitol Hill has served to pit neighbor against neighbor in hotly partisan times. I’m honored to play a part in a reform that will force career politicians to get a real job. Term limits give us the occasion to link arms with our neighbors and push back on a tenure-driven federal legislature which rewards corruption and squelches legislative courage.”

As regional director, Aaron is responsible for introducing the U.S. Term Limits resolutions in central state legislatures by securing sponsors and identifying term limits champion lawmakers who will shepherd the measure through to a successful conclusion. Aaron is also tasked with directing the grassroots leadership teams who will engage volunteers and work to create opportunities for candidates and legislators to sign the term limits convention pledge as a key part of the overall strategy.

Scott Tillman, National Field Director of USTL says, “Aaron brings a depth of knowledge and experience critical for building the teams, forging relationships, and strategic planning needed to help us get to the 34 states needed to trigger the term limits amendment convention. He is a valuable addition to our management team.”

The key central states targeted to pass the U.S. Term Limits’s Article V convention resolutions in 2021 are Kentucky and Tennessee among others. Dukette resides in London, Kentucky.

According to a 2021 nationwide poll on term limits conducted by McLaughlin & Associates, term limits enjoy wide bipartisan support. An overwhelming 80% of voters approve of a constitutional amendment that will place term limits on members of Congress. Once a term limits on Congress proposal is agreed upon, 38 states must ratify it in order for it to become part of the Constitution.
